Benefit Watts Up Highlighter

This is a sample size of Benefits' Watts Up highlighter that came in their party poppers advent calendar. I have never tried this before yesterday so I didn't know what to expect but I did have high expectations as I love most of Benefits' products.

It is a cream highlighter in a stick form so it is easy and mess free to apply. It's very creamy so it blends into the skin and subtly highlights so is perfect for natural makeup. I personally like highlighter that is a little bit stronger so I would recommend that you apply a powder highlighter on top of it.

I really like this highlighter particularly for the texture of it. It is very smooth and creamy so it sits on the skin very well. This is definitely a shimmery highlighter as oppose to glittery making it more natural. I look forward to using this product and will defiantly be purchasing the full size which I finish this sample.

Orly Passion Fruit Polish

At the beginning of August, my family and I are spending two weeks in Greece and I can't put into words how excited I am! As I can't wait any longer, I have began creating my lists for what to pack.  I am currently deciding what nail polishes to take and I have just stumbled upon this. (I just thought that I would point this bottle of nail polish is miniature; my hands aren't that small!)
I got this free in a Cosmopolitan magazine a few months ago and never though anything of it. I was rummaging through my nail draw and found it so I though I would give it a try. I have never used anything ORLY before so I didn't know what to expect from it.  If you were in a rush you could probably get away with only one coat because it is very opaque. My favourite part about this is the brush. It has my favourite brush. It is medium length which helps as the brush strokes are even. I was able to get close to my cuticles with out any smudges which is quite unusual. It has a gel like finish and to my surprise I like it. Usually, when polishes have gel like finishes they can be gloopy as well as sticky and take a while to dry. This is the complete opposite. A lot comes out on the brush so you do have to take a bit off but the actual formula is exactly what I like; not too thick not too thin. Sometimes when I my getting bored of my nails, I start to pick at the colour and some polishes peel  off the whole polish from the nail.  I am glad that this one doesn't because it usually indicates that it is less likely to chip. The only negative thing I found with this is that it isn't very shiny. I always apply a top coat any way so it doesn't really matter however I did expect it to have more of a shine to it. Overall, I am really loving this colour and would definitely recommend that you have a look your self. I really want to go and get some more from their brand.

My Most Used Brushes

Hello everyone,
it has been a while but I am glad to be back on track with my new and updated blogging routine. As much as I would love to say that I use everyone of my brushes every time I do my makeup, I don't. Usually, I will only use them all when I am  creating a smokey eye with a heavy base. I like to keep it down to a small amount of makeup brushes because it takes less time and most if not all of my brushes are multi-purpose. Here are my brushes that use a lot, if for some reason it was lost them I don't know what I would do!

C406 LG.DUO FACE (The middle one)
This is definitely my favourite brush that is in my possession. It is so soft and fluffy (especially when freshly washed.) If I am being lazy and only using one brush for the entire face, this is the one. It can be used for contour, blush, setting powder, highlight as well as liquids but I wouldn't recommend you try that. This brush does not pick up an excessive amount of product which makes it perfect for light and natural makeup which is my preferred look. If like me keeping on top of washing your isn't your strongest point, you might find this brush useful. Even if it is completely full of bronzer you can still use it for other looks because it applies a light amount of product. If you were to buy any one of the brushes from this post, I would recommend that you buy this one.

Real Techniques Base Shadow brush (The first one)
You are able to complete a full eye look with both crease and lid colour ect with this one brush. Even when using a dark brown colour in the crease like MAC's Brun,  it will not transfer the colour onto the lid when blending. This also speedup the makeup process which is a necessity for me as I hardly have any time to get ready because I spend the majority of the time on Instagram & Twitter (oops!) This is washed more regularly than the face brush because I like my eye shadows to be clean and defined but it is down to personal judgement. This can also be used to blend highlight and concealer however, it doesn't do the best job as the bristles are not so densely packed because it is an eye brush.

Real Techniques Deluxe Crease brush (The end one)
I like to use this to blend concealer, highlight and crease colours. The bristles are densely packed so I prefer this as a face brush however it does blend eye shadows well. When using this to blend in powders it really does make it look flawless. Like the previous brushes, you can us this with multiple products with out any transfer.

Happy Wednesday! I would love it if you left some comments in the comment section as I love to interact with you. Thanks for stopping bye, Holly xxx

Chocolate covered strawberries!

I intended to write this post before the beginning of lent but I never. This is making my craving for chocolate and sweets multiply my one million. Now that I have said that we can carry on!
These are probably the easiest treats that you can make. They would be really lovely gifts if you were to wrap them up in a box and tie a ribbon around it. They would be nice as Easter presents instead of the same old Easter eggs.
What you will need:
  • 2 bars of white chocolate (minimum)
  • 2 bars of milk chocolate (minimum)
  • freshly washed strawberries with stalks
I would recommend bars of chocolate as I struggled with 2. I also found out the hard way that you shouldn't reheat any chocolate that has already cooled down. This does not melt the chocolate properly. It make mine into a sticky mess that weren't evenly coated.

If you haven't done already wash your strawberries  and remember to leave the stalks on. If you cut them off, it will be much harder to dip them into the chocolate when it is melted. It doesn't really mater what order of chocolate goes on first (I chose the white.) Once the strawberry is evenly coated leave it on a baking tray or some sort of plate with either tin foil or baking paper. Leave it to chill and set for around 10-15 mins. I think they would be ok to take out at 10 mins but I left mine I for 15 just to be sure. Then repeat again with the other chocolate. If you would like to add any sweet decorations  now would be the time. Make sure to do it before the last layer of chocolate is still unset other wise the sweets won't stick. You could also drizzle some of the other chocolate on the top to make it look pretty. This is just a guideline, you can change it up a bit to whatever you like.
I hope that you enjoyed this as it was something a little bit different. Be sure to try them out because they taste amazing!

School Bag Beauty Bits

The Body Shop hand creamTed Baker Mini Body Spray

In mu school back pack I like to keep a few beauty bits in case I need them through out the day. I could bring half of my makeup stash however, I actually use these things and they don't weigh my back down.
I couldn't find a link to the hand sanitizer. I didn't do much research about it, I just liked the name so I though I would buy it. I bought mine from amazon so if you wanted it that much I am sure that you could find it. I smells of peaches and isn't too over powering which is always god especially if it gives you headaches like me!
The Ted Baker spray came as a gift to me for my birthday in a set. It is £6 to buy the big bottle and I really want to even though I never finish perfumes. I really cant describe scents so I would recommend that you go and smell one. I like that it is small so that it doesn't take up loads of room in my bag.
The final thing I keep in my bag is a hand cream. My face, body and hands are always dry so if I am washing them all the time they are only going to get dryer. This is probably the thing that I use the most. I like to apply a small bit at the end of each lesson. By the time I move on to my next class it has soaked in. I like to use this after I have washed or sanitised my hands so that they are clean.

What are your handbag essential? happy Monday bye xx

Multi-purpose brushes

So, who doesn't love a good ol' multi purpose makeup brush? There is nothing worse than when you are winding down on a Sunday evening  and you have about one million brushes that all have to be cleaned. Not only does it take forever (or at least how it feels for me) but afterward I always find that my hand always goes pale where I have been buffing all the brushes in the same spot! To save all of this trauma (dramatic you think) use multi purpose brushes *cheering and clapping!*
These are Real Technique brushes for anyone who didn't know. If you didn't, where have you been seriously?! You can't buy these separately they come in sets. The Contour Brush comes in a face set which you can Buy Here . These are part of the Core Collection. You can also purchase the Deluxe Crease Brush Here which is part of the Starter kit. These links are to amazon.
I think that these brushes can be used for much more things other than contouring and blending. I like to use the contour brush to push powder down the centre of my face and under my eyes to lock products into place, brush a primer and loose powder over my eye lids before shadows and obviously contouring. I like to use the Deluxe Crease Brush to blend in concealer under my eyes, apply highlighter to the tops of my cheekbones, blend in product around my lips (Just in case anything looks cakey) and obviously blending products in the crease and lid.

Do you have any good/favourite multipurpose brushes that you have? xx

Happy Pamper set by Soap & Glory

Hello every one,
for my birthday present off my lovely friend Emily I received this beautiful soap and glory set and I wanted to share it with you.

This set includes travel or in my opinion hand bag size The Righteous Butter and Clean On Me . These two previous links are to buy the products separately full size and This Link is to buy the travel size set of these two products. The Clean On Me is a shower gel but in this case is used as soap to wash your hands. The Righteous Butter is a body butter however, is used as a hand cream.
The scent of these two products is the of these two products is the original pink rose and bergarnot fragrance. This is favourite soap and glory scent, in fact this is the only scent I actually like to use. I find the other ones too strong and bold. I think this one is very floral and light. I find the others a little too overpowering.
Like I said earlier, this was a birthday present off my friend Emily. She paired this gift set along with some other smaller things like comfy socks. I would recommend to do this if you were giving this to a friend or family member as a gift. I appreciated this gift very much especially with the socks (even if it does sound weird) it was like a little pamper set.
If you wanted to treat your self this would also be a good idea. I wouldn't buy this to keep at home as well, you can do this with any products. If you were to buy this I would recommend keeping this in your hand bag and maybe switching up the clean on me for a hand sanitizer just in case you aren't close to a tap.

bye xxxx
